Jag läser inte så mycket längre, vare sig riktiga böcker, noveller, poesi eller e-böcker. Det är lite tragiskt, nu när jag faktiskt har chansen och möjligheten. Coronapaniken har satt sig, eller ska jag säga, Coronasysslolösheten, den där känslan av katatoni och uppgivenhet som gör att allt känns meningslöst.

In less than a month's time we're premiering "LLA-VES" written by Nerea Lovecchio , my extremly inspirational wife, and produced by her studio Estudio Nerea Lovecchio . Not only am I nervous about the premiere, it's by far one of the most challenging roles that I've ever tackled and I'm so grateful for the opportunity. The play revolves around a family of three and the peculiar situation that they are all in. When odds and ends untie, the plot evolves and when the tension rises, their relationships are tried and tested to the max. The challenge of this role is something that I've always wanted to tackle and the evolution of this character, before and during the performance is something that I am working intensely on. It's also a great deal of fun accepting the challenge, once again, of acting for adults in a language where I am still not 100%, Spanish. It pushes me even further, both mentally and physically than I ever thought possible...

I just can't keep quiet. Recently here in Spain, the Goyas (which are basically Spain's equivalent to the Oscar's) were celebrated with glamour, elegance and supposedly the best of what the seventh art has to offer in Spain. As is normal, there was also an honorary statue being given in honor of the life-long achievements of a certain actress, Ana Belén. I've never seen her work nor have I followed her career so I can't vouch for her in terms of her interpretations. She proceeded to read her very well written acceptance speech, which at moments might have been a little awkward to hear for the mostly male dominated industry, in where she elegantly and eloquently expressed her gratitude. She also expressed the importance of professionalism, studies and how important it is for any actor or actress to keep looking for new experiences, new masters and to never stop evolving and developing. By and large, we're pretty much living the dream as actors when we are able to support ourselves by doing what we actually love to do. When we don't have to run with the tail in between our legs to the closest Starbucks in order to scrape together the last little pennies for rent every month. When we actually do what we love and get paid for it, that right there is the epitome of success. Which of course leads me to talk about something that I'm so darned proud of and proud to be able to support. I'm talking about Nerea's latest project which is her studio, aptly named "Estudio Nerea Lovecchio". I know it's been a dream for her for quite some time now, but now finally the stars have aligned and made the opening of her own space possible. It's something truly emotional to watch your partner actually make a dream come true.
